First Impressions

Bula! Arriving at the Fiji Marriott Resort after an hour’s drive from the airport, the friendly Fijian hospitality welcomed us with so much kindness! Even though it was raining the staff ensured every moment of our arrival was seamless, escorting us to our beachfront bungalow in a large golf cart with our luggage, where thoughtful touches like hibiscus flowers, origami style folded towels, and a handwritten welcome note was on display as we opened the door. When the rain eased, we walked towards the main common area near the lobby, which was easy to find as the resort path’s are lit up at night. We then spent the rest of the evening by the fireplace listening to live music.

Accomodation

We arrived at the Fiji Marriott Resort during the night, so waking up in the morning in our beach front bungalow (the Duplex Ocean Front Bure) felt like a special surprise with the view of the ocean right in front of us at our doorstep. The bungalow is designed for two people, it’s very spacious and serene, with high, church-style ceilings and plenty of room to lounge and store our belongings without them taking up space in the room. The ensuite bathroom featured a freestanding bath right in the middle, with lots of generous storage and a long bench top where the sinks were placed. A comfortable lounge area next to our king-sized bed is practical for enjoying room service or unwinding. However, our private deck stole the show, offering uninterrupted views of the beach and Fiji’s stunning island scenery. There were even sunbeds on the sand for us to enjoy a private island escape. The privacy between each of the bungalows were thoughtfully designed to maximise the experience of peace and exclusivity. The toughest decision each day was choosing which swimsuit to wear.

Dining

The breakfast buffet is held at ‘Goji Kitchen & Bar’ within the Fiji Marriott Resort and offers a picturesque setting, sitting on a deck above the resort's crystal-clear ocean water, providing a serene start to your day. Since the majority of the resort has an indoor/outdoor element, you can enjoy breakfast while floating above the calm ocean scenery, creating a tranquil morning experience! The breakfast buffet offers a wide range of options. You can choose from healthy dishes, eggs Benedict, French toast, and other hot foods. The fruit section and juice bar add a beautiful variety of colors and creative presentations!

The resort offers many stunning dining options. During our stay, we only had time to try ‘Fish Bar,’ and it exceeded our expectations! Located next to the adults-only infinity pool, ‘Fish Bar’ is an elevated dining experience with panoramic views of Fiji’s coastline. Perfect for cocktails or a romantic dinner at sunset, you can enjoy the freshest seafood that Fiji has to offer! You're also free to order from the ‘Fish Bar’ menu when relaxing by the adults-only infinity pool. This resort is large and would take a few days to fully explore, including its various dining options, recreational activities, and scenic spots. I can't wait to come back and explore the rest of the dining options!

Rest & Recreation

If you've never heard of "Fiji time", you'll discover it during your stay. Whether you choose the main pool with a swim-up bar, the adults-only infinity pool with a hot tub, the kids pool, or paddle-boarding along the resort's lagoon, you'll find that time seems to stand still. Enjoy water sports like jet skiing on Vonu Beach or spend a day at the spa. "Fiji time" is all about slowing down and being present in each moment of your day. The Fiji Marriott Resort, Momi Bay, offers a wide variety of ways for you to unwind and be present in the most relaxing surroundings. Each day, the staff writes positive affirmations, a new Fijian word to learn, and lists the new daily activities to keep you active and entertained. Activities include training, court sports, fish feeding, aqua aerobics, bracelet making, tie-dye, and a torch and fire dance ceremony at sunset. The resort also provides convenient shuttle buses to the main tourist locations for you to fully explore Fiji. If you're looking for a holiday where you can put your phone away and truly decompress in a secluded island paradise, the Marriott Resort in Momi Bay is the place to be!

Service & Hospitality

As you wander through the resort, every staff member greets you with a cheerful ‘Bula’, which is Fijian for “hello” or “welcome”. Everyone in Fiji is extremely friendly, which makes your stay here feel more welcoming and enjoyable. One day, as I was walking through the resort, I saw a staff member cutting coconuts from a tree. They asked if I would like one and kindly opened it for me to drink. It was the best coconut water I've ever had! The staff at the Fiji Marriott Momi Bay were some of the most thoughtful, caring, and happy people I've ever come across! They truly taught me to appreciate the simple pleasures of everyday life, like taking a leisurely walk or savouring a quiet moment. We made great connections with the staff during our stay and were sad at the thought of saying goodbye to everyone!

The Fiji Marriott Resort, Momi Bay, is a 45-minute drive from Nadi International Airport. The resort resides on a large-scale oceanfront property, offering various areas and activities to explore each day of your stay, perfect for guests who wish to immerse themselves in the beauty and excitement of Fiji without leaving the site. The resort is completely Fijian-owned, which enhances your cultural experience by immersing yourself in authentic local hospitality and traditions, providing you with a deeper connection to the Fijian culture. Renowned for its exclusivity, cultural richness, and luxury, this resort stands out as a premier destination in Fiji.

Overall Experience

While five days was enough to relax and unwind, I wish I had more time to explore more of the dining options and attractions that it has to offer. The lush accommodation, panoramic ocean views, and cultural richness, created a fulfilling, rejuvenating and memorable vacation like no other. The Fiji Marriott Resort, Momi Bay, is perfect for anyone and everyone. If you're looking for a romantic getaway, a solo escape, or a special vacation with loved ones. It's the best place where you'll find time slows down and suddenly your immersed in the beauty of the present moment. Living the true meaning of "Fiji time". You wont want to leave!
